Marian Zakrzewski

Marian Zakrzewski (Born in Warsaw, Poland) is a Polish and Canadian Maitre d'Arms who earned these titles at the Academy of Physical Education of Warsaw and the Canadian Fencing Masters Academy respectively.[1]

During his fencing career that spans over half a century he competed for almost 2 decades and represented Poland at the Senior World Championships in 1965 in Paris and 1966 in Moscow.

He was assistant coach for the Polish Olympic sabre team for the 1976 Montreal Olympics and the Canadian sabre team for the 1988 Seoul Olympics [2]

Founder of Mississauga Fencing Club, he was the only Maitre d'Arms teaching all 3 weapons in Great Toronto Area and retired from coaching in 2010.
Maitre Zakrzewski was first épée coach for Alexandre Lyssov, a dual bronze medallist at the 2010 Youth Olympics.
